The 2000 Annual Meeting of the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota (LCMND) will be held at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB, on Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21, 2000. As always, proposals on a wide range of literary and linguistic topics are welcome, but this year we encourage proposals on the following topics:
Eventually we hope to publish a selection of completed papers on these two topics. Please encourage your colleagues to submit a proposal.
Proposals for papers in French or English, accompanied by an abstract of up to three pages suitable for publication in Proceedings, should be sent to one of the LCMND officers listed below by September 15, 2000.

The program normally includes papers on a wide range of literary and linguistic topics. Presentations should not normally exceed 20 minutes. Please note that only members in good standing may present papers. To achieve good standing, send a cheque along with the completed membership information form provided for you below to the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota Secretary-Treasurer. Pre-registration forms and information on hotel accommodations will be provided in a confirmation letter upon receipt of your abstract and membership fee. Please allow sufficient time for delivery.
